Privacy
We collect an email address if you give us one, and nothing else you have not chosen to send. Reader letters are published only with permission, first name or initials only unless you ask otherwise.
What we collect
An email address, if you give us one for a newsletter or a membership. A name and a payment record, if you become a member, held by the payment processor rather than by us. Nothing else that you have not chosen to send.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade an address, ever, to anyone, including a sponsor. Sponsors of the newsletter receive a count, not a list.
Letters
Correspondence is published only with permission, under a first name or initials unless you ask otherwise. Anything that would identify a child is removed before publication, including school names, and we will remove a published letter on request without asking why.
Households in the reporting
Households in the Audit, Ledger, Minutes and Standard Operating Procedure formats consent in writing, read their own piece for factual accuracy before it runs, and can withdraw at any point before publication. Names are changed and employers and schools generalised.
Analytics
We measure how many people read a piece and where they arrived from. We do not build profiles of individual readers and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
Asking us about your data
Write to editors@householdjournal.com. We will tell you what we hold and delete it if you want it deleted.
